I just traded my 68 F100 for a 59 F100 and need some help gathering some info. Where can I get one of the 1 piece door windows for my truck? Or can I just use the same guts and have a piece of glass cut to the dimensions and bolt it in?
No. I looked at Sac Ford and they only go to ’56. So two ideas, surf the net looking for a possible conversion kit / article or and I don’t know this, but what year was the first in Ford trucks for no vent / full glass? Get the motor and parts from that or aftermarket generic, buy some channel, and get some glass cut (it is flat?) couple of months should have it done (three or four times).
This is not an easy bolt in job, it is going to require a fair amount of precise body work to modify the door to recieve the glass and track, custom cut glass and modified mechanism and fabrication, IF there is even enough room inside the door for the glass and needed hardware. Are you up to the task?
If I were doing this job I'd invest in a scrap door (just needs to be straight otherwise condition is unimportant) and remove the inside door skin to see exactly what is in there and make it easy to measure and check your fabrications before tearing up a set of good doors.
If you are confident you have the needed skills, and have a dummy door to work with come back and ask again for a more detailed discussion of how to proceed from there.

Just for grins and giggles (I am always on the lookout for new sources) I too looked at Street rod glass's web site ,but I don't see where it says they have 1 piece replacement door glass (wind wing elimination) kits for 59 Ford? What or where am I missing something?

Sorry AX and others, you didn't see it because it is not there. I goofed, but it also didn't show one for my 56 but he did mine, a complete installation. My subconcious must have seen it.
Ah ha, OK! I really thought I missed something...
AFAIK there would not be a glass channel under or above the wind wing window in the door frame, so the slot for the roll up window would need to be continued (cut, metal finished and weather stripped) to the front of the door, and a slot would need to be created in the upper door frame and felt track installed for the new portion of the window top and a new front guide track installed inside the door to guide the front of the glass. I don't know, but I suspect there may be reinforcement for the door hinge mounts inside the door that will get in the way. That's why I suggested finding a sacrificial door to cut open and see exactly what's inside and use to perfect the install with everything out in the open before tackling a good set of doors.
Custom Classic Trucks, February 2009 issue, has a article on how to install the one piece side window in a 1950 F-1. Maybe that will give you some ideas. Send me your email and I'll send the article to you. chuck
