Rust Free Cab Value

That seems a little steep compared to prices here. For that price, it better have doors glass seat dash steering column all in excellent shape for me to even consider it. I live in pa and have found them anywhere from 100 for one with some surface rust to 1000 dollars for one completely rust free from out in California. It just depends who has it and if they know what they have. I'm sure prices do vary from area to area though.

I bought a whole complete running rust free 1977 F-250 2wd with Ranger XLT trim in pretty nice shape for $1k in CA (and had it shipped to UT for just under $500.00).
I suggest you search the Craigslist ads in the southwestern US for a complete truck. Though you may only want the cab, I would think you could sell a nice rust free bed for a pretty penny in Maine and recoup some of your costs.

Funny - I have been suggesting people do that for a LONG time. I didn't think anybody ever listened.
Cabs go for dirt cheap out here. Heck - I've had to cut up the last couple rust free cabs I've had as I can't sell them for $50 even...
There is a guy about a block away who parted out a 74 super camper special. He's got the rust free cab and bed off that sitting there (or did last time I checked). As long as it hasn't gone to the scrapper I can ask about it for you if you want.

It's all about location, location, location, a rust free cab in the southwest desert may sell for only $200, the very same rust free cab in the northeast rust belt may sell for a $1,000...
Frieght charges don't have to be a deal killer, there's money to be made if a guy wanted to bring a few rust free trucks back east and part them out.

If I remember right the cab was rust free. I know the drip rails were at least and I'm pretty sure about the windshield area.
I'm at work right now, but PM me and I'll give you the guy's number and you can call and ask if he's still got it and price. Otherwise I drive by there on my way to the hsop after work so I can see if it's still in the yard.
As for shipping price - I'm not sure but I would think it could be done for $500 or less.
Here's the truck. As I know the guy still has the bed too.

Yea chase I have offered the same advice. I just can't hardly deal with rust myself so to me it makes perfect sense. I'm in the trucking business, so I know a little about the cost of shipping. shipping a complete pickup 1500 miles would be cheaper than repairing an existing cab, if you are going by shop rates.
In the 80s I had a small salvage yard and had several customers that came by on a regular route with orders from body shops in the rust belt. It was mostly doors, beds, bumpers and gas tanks.
