i'm not trying to belittle anyone just simply trying to understand how you buy a vehicle without testing things out before paying. i think people should be informed shoppers so as to not get ripped off
I fix peoples cars for money, backyard, shadtree mechanic type. Business is good when I get a bunch of people who know nothing about their car, specifically if it is reliable or not. I know people that have bought a car strictly because they like the color, which seems foolish to me. But not everyone grows up around cars, sometimes I forget that too, just need to be more patient with some people. I've had issues on forums before people thinking I'm a dick too, it's hard to read body language and verbal nuances from text. I love teaching people how to work on cars, but I do lose my patience sometimes, I'm only human
my dad is a maintenance man and he builds motorcycles,he can fix damn near anything and do you know what he taught me about working on things? nothing. some things you just have to figure out on your own. i'm not saying he never helped me but he wanted me to learn, not watch and copy. he even let me take the fall on my first 4x4 and i'm glad he did. he let me waste 2500$ (9years ago)on a hackjob 78 f150 with no bed floor, doors that wouldn't close,no interior,ok it had a tape deck laying on the floor, a leaky carb, speedo was only working gauge, a 390fe that found its way between the frame rails, and more wiring problems than i can count, but man did those twice pipes scream!!! that taught me a good life lesson, take a good look at things before you fork over some cash for a p.o.s. i am an @$$#0[e, i'll never deny that, but i was trying to be helpful, sorry if you didn't get my"whitty charm" in my posts
