C4 Torque Converter

I have just finished rebuilding my C4 tranny. I am in the process of putting it all back together, but i was wondering how I can get all the oil out of the torque converter and what would be the best way to fill it up again.

The best way is to have a tranny shop pump new oil through the trans, but it's expensive. Just drain as much as you can by turning it face down then set it over a 5 gallon bucket for a couple of days. Some older converters have a drain plug in the face so you can drain the oil.
Remember to pour a new quart or so in before stabbing it back into the tranny or it wont drive the front pump and you'll have to pull the trans again.

thanks for the advice on pouring some new oil in before putting the converter back. I did have a drain plug so draining the oil was pretty simple. Another question, is it neccessary to flush the converter out, and if so what would be the best to use?
