Fallston, I can not PM yet for some reason, but I'll post some pictures and a sound bit so you can hear it. Then you and billman can work it out. If the OP doesn't want it.
Fallston,I see you from Harford Co., I grew up there. I lived on Ring Factory Rd. for a while.
I'll PM with email for pix and videos ...
I see you're in 63114 = Breckenridge Hills. We lived in Pasadena Hills - over by Normandy for 15 years.
Glad to hear you will be able to take care of your exhaust issues. I hope rlh68050 and 6686l will be able to hear it from their home town!
I think I owe you guys an apology - in this respect - I may have created the impression that I am making fun of those of you younger folk in here who have a need to be annoying by altering your vehicles to make lots of noise.
To be fair and honest, no matter how far back in time you go, there were always people - even in my generation, who had a need to be annoying, who had a need for disturbing other people's conversations, intruding on their enjoyment of their day.
I went to high school (Hollywood High in Los Angeles, California) in the mid 1950's.
Making lots of exhaust noise even back then ? In my "circle", we even made jokes about it. Generally, it was the kids who didn't have much of a life - the ones who knew they werent going to be successful. So they compensated by being annoying with their vehicles.
And then there are the kids who were concerned about the size of their ...er..ah...well...you "get it" - they had to compensate for "short-comings" by making noise with their cars.
My recollection is that even during my high-school years there were after-market muffler manufacturers had special products to meet their needs.
I recall; for example, "glass pack" mufflers. Put em on a vehicle, and it would make a stacatto high-frequency "rap rap rap" that was especially penetrating and annoying.
Going back even further in automotive history,(way before I was born), after-market manufacturers sold "exhaust cut-outs". You could pull a lever in the vehicle's cab, and open up the exhaust right at the "header" connection to the exhaust pipe.
To be fair, I didn't come up with this theory about "the louder the vehicle's exhaust, the smaller the guy's...er...ah..".(well, you get the idea) on my own.
I got that theory about "size" from my wife. She says she figured that out by herself when she was in high school ( I think you "get the picture"...she was socially..well.."active" way before I met her....!).
Hmmm - you dont suppose that is why she, years later, picked me...(yeah, my vehicles all had stock mufflers and were thus VERY quiet....)
So, guys - again, I apologize if I gave you the impression I was picking on you young folk in here.
= = = = =
Seriously, folks, let me again repeat my warning, which was confirmed by at least one other chatter in here.
There is a price, in many states, for going out of your way to be annoying.
Altered exhaust systems, overly glaring headlamps, stuff like that, can get you pulled over, and ordered out of your vehicle. In some jurisdictions, they will let you keep your keys, which you can use to pick up your vehicle afterwards.
Well, that is after you have paid an enormous fine, towing charges to the impound lot. Then more towing charges to the certified shop of the government's choice, where the vehicle is converted back to "legal" condition and again allowed on public roads.
So - my recommendation as an attorney who has practiced law in this field - again, get some legal advice from someone who knows what they are talking about. If you live in a jurisdiction like some I know about, you really dont want to go out of your way to annoy/create safety hazzards for others, with your vehicle.

Young? No - I'm in my 50's - and hung like a horse. I did not go for any after market mods/tuner that would blow up my transmission and pour disel smoke all over (although that is pretty neat). I tow several boats, including a 26' sportfishing boat, and simply want a freer flowing exhaust, because it tows better, and things will last longer with lower EGTs. I live in SC, know the laws well, and didn't have a question there. So - back to the TOPIC ...
It appears there are NO stainless steel muffler delete pipes for the stock 3.5" diameter Ex 7.3L exhaust system. There are pipes for the F250, but they are different from the Ex's shape. Expandit appears to be the only solution, with an aluminized steel pipe with the correct bends, but I still can't tell if it needs to have the hanger welded on or what. Does anyone know or have this pipe?
Thanks again,
SC-Ex
No, I really need it to go back and turn out to the side. I don't want to breath fumes at idle.
Thanks - someone else can go for it!
