big issue with this one is its a 6.0 and the warranty is almost up so all the potential known and expensive problems with this engine have not shown up yet and you will be paying out of your own pocket for $$$$$ repairs down the road

9 years old. They will never get $38,900 for it in this lifetime.
Kelley Blue Book high retail suggested price is $17,000.
but KBB is a waste anyway, it doesn't account for extremely low mileage older vehicles. its kinda like using KBB to decide the value of a 63 split window vette.....
But I agree in these economic times they are not going to get a premium for that one... I would love to know what the dealer bought it for.
Me too, but be aware this truck for sure has the diode as it was manufactured on 11/15/00...vehicles manufactured betweeen 07/27/00 and 03/23/01 got it.
There's alot of rust on the undercarriage for it to only have 5800 miles on it. The mechanical instrument cluster is very easy to swap, and there's no way to know if it was swapped with a salvage vehicle's cluster if they kept this one "off the radar" with minimal service trips, etc.

The problem I have with both trucks is no run time. Letting a diesel set is the worst thing you can do especially for engine seals and the 6.0 turbo. I would rather have a 100K truck that has all problems fixed then walking into another set of problems unless you really have nothing else to do.

Huh? Wad you talking about, Willis?
We need an "Excursion For Dummies" manual to reference once in a while.

When I bought my Excursion in 2006, I sold a 1999 F150 4X4 with less than 6,000 miles on it. The guy who bought it was questioned hot and heavy by his bank and his insurance company. They both tried to convince him that there was no way the mileage could be true and accurate. I sat right beside him listening to his bank and insurance agent both call me a "con artist".
To this day I still haven't seen the loan officer face to face (yet), but I warned the insurance agent he best be very careful about making slanderous remarks about people to his clients.

In this case, the vehicle's condition does not match the mileage shown. Pictures of the undercarriage show this. If the mileage can be proven by registration/inspection records with mileage and dates, then I'd be more apt to believe them.
