Okay, well I was trying to do my first coolant filter change and it was being a real bugger. I even pulled the holster out and still could not get it out.
Does anyone have a better method that the ole scredriver method? My oil filter wrench is not big enough. LOL
So, let me know your thoughts, otherwise I will just stab the b!tch.
Got a large piece of tire tube rubber, wrap in that and either a strap wrench or even two hands, stand up on a bench beside the truck, reach in with both hands and crank. remember, righty tighty, lefty loosey. You dont want to tighten it more. It shouldnt be that tight to break loose, did you put a bit of oil on the o ring? The alternative is to go buy a large enough strap wrench. They are pretty handy anyway, dont have to spend much more than $10 bucks.....

Yeah, might have to go buy a bigger wrench. LOL And I had to think which way to turn since it is technically backwards because it is upside down.
I can't remember if we put oil or just some coolant on the oring. Either way it is too tight for my hand. LOL
The filter isn't upside down, the operator is. LOL Think about it. You are usually on your back looking up, not standing looking down.
Man, that is brutal! Yeah, now if I only had go go gadget arms to get by all the junk and reach 5 feet up from the ground, that would make it a ton easier!!!!
Yeah, I am gonna buy a filter wrench today, I am excited to see what all stuff is in there. I expect bugs and such given the history on this truck.
Okay guys, I continue to prove myself tarded and need my hand held the whole way. LOL So yeah, I bought a filter wrench for $8 and got it off (and made a mess, but whatever).
Now, I have the Baldwin filter from dieselsite. How are you guys cutting these open? I was thinking a razor blade. haha, yeah, not so much. It is metal. So, if anyone has some guidance, please make me feel more incompetant!
(by the way, I usually get things done, just have way more problems than the average person.)
