New Member, Question about Trans...
I just aguired a 1976 Ford Highboy F250 narrow frame, Its got a Divorced 4 spd manual trans the 4 spd is shot!! I have a 2wd 4 spd that i can throw in it and I have a married 4 spd, How big of a deal is it to swap divorced for married? I'm well aware of the obvious driveline diffs and what not but other then that... Or should I throw the 2wd trans in and leave it divorced?? whats the perks?? I've heard good and bad on divorced what do u guys think?

If your married 4 sp has the transfer attached, no big deal just make rear mount under transfer case. You might have problems with the front driveshaft though. Low mount pinion on front axle is one of the reasons for the divorced tranny. Drive shaft angle might be real steep with a married transfer case. If you have just the 4sp married and going to use the divorced transfer case, you will need lots of internal parts on the front of the input for transfer case.
