Went to Modesto to see Jody (DP Tuners) today. Great group of guys, and gals there. I had my chip reburned for the John Woods trans. She is alive again. Shifts totally different than without the chip, at least while slowing down. When it shifts out of overdrive it feels like someone pushed the overdrive kill switch and there is a very firm solid shift down. Almost like it is a stick shift. Great to have the power back.
Thanks for this post Terry. I'm going to get some of that Tipton Live Tuning at RRW. Nice to hear he will be able to tune for better tranny shift strategies.

No problem. Unfortunately I didn't actually get live tuning, just a reburn on my tuner. Not enough funds for a live tune. But the shifting now feels better than it did with the stock trans and original DP tunes, and alot different than the JW trans with no tunes. It actually feels like the trans is downshifting and using engine compression to slow the truck down. And acceleration shifting felt good and firm too.
If i'm correct, the downshifting comes with Jodys"updated" tunes(which i don't have yet due to being too scared to be without my chip),but i think i'm gonna send it in this coming week.

Well I can just imagine what he will be able to do while tweaking the tunes live.
I don't even know what it costs for live tuning. And I don't want to know. What I do know is that I already have the first c-note covered.
They call it a deposit. I call it a down payment.

Stop waiting is all I have to say. I took mine out do to the trans change planning on sending it in for reflash, almost four months later I finally have it back in. And yes I believe the down shifting is with Jody's updated tuning.
