I notice Felpro has 3 head gaskets for the 4.9. They have a $20, a 'severe duty' gasket for $30, and the hp gasket with pre flattened steel compression seal, and steel core laminate construction for $58.99.
On my first engine I used the cheapest of the gaskets, and when I pulled it apart two mechanics noticed that gasket was nearing failure between a couple of the cylinders. This time around I am using the ARP studs, and the hp gasket.
Any comments are appreciated.
