ZF5 again

Has any one that has swapped a ZF5 to a 6.9 ever used the pressure plate and clutch off the dual mass setup on the 6.9 flywheel.

I know there is no springs in the clutch so I was wandering how good it will work or if it will jerk the center out real quick.

You can get a DMF clutch with springs, My 88 had one when I pulled it.

Milt Check Cheaperjeepers gallery. He lists part numbers that he used whe he did his zf conversion. 1986 Ford F250 4x4 - T-19 to ZF-5 Swap I tried to cross them to NAPA numbers when I did my conversion but no luck.

I'm running a 6.9 smf with 6.9 smf pressure plate with zf5 clutch disk in my 7.3, and it works great. I put that in when I did my e4od to zf5 swap. I have been running it for 9 months with no issues, and was wayyy cheaper then the luk smf setup. I even used all used parts, but next month I am putting in new clutch disk, pressure plate, etc from autozone. I also found out from cheepers jeepers old thread that it would work.

It has springs. Even with them it has quite the gear rollover noise.

Yea I don't think I'm going to like the rollover noise I keep hearing about. I may just take it back apart and put the dualmass fllywheel in it.
