can anyone tell me if 305/65/18 tires are not as wide as 325/65/18 tires

yes the 305's are narrower by .79 inches

the first number (305) refers to the tire being 305 mm wide.....the next number is the percent of the width that the sidewall is tall....(305 x .65) and the next number is the rim size...
