Turn **** to A/C, MAX A/C, or defrost and nothing. I checked the 10 amp fuse in the panel. it's fine. I can hear the relays working when I turn to defrost or to a/c. Last summer I added some 134A to it to top it off. The defrost worked fine all winter long. Will the compressor come on if the 134a is low? or is there some sort of low freon sensor? If I walk out to the truck, should I be able to spin the clutch by hand w/out the vehicle running?
On the passenger side firewall. It is the vertically mounted cylinder abount the size of a 16 oz coke bottle that has a hard line going into the top and also has a port for the low pressure test / charging hose.
You can jumper the switch contacts at the harness to see if that's what's holding out the compressor clutch. If the clutch kicks in, it's either the system's low on refrigerant, or the switch is bad.
I had the same problem last year when I had to replace the A/C condenser on my truck. If it's low, it simply won't kick on no matter what you do. It took about 3 cans of the synthetic stuff you can get at walmart or autozone. As soon as it had enough, it kicked on and has kept my truck cool ever since. You may need to bleed off some air for it kick in, but try adding some refrigerant first....
OK UPDATE!!
I added a can of freeon today, and it still didn't wanna kick on so I jumped out the low pressure switch and it started working. I hooked the switch back up and shut off the truck, when I restarted it, it started cycling properly. Should be good for now unless I have a leak somewhere. Thanks fellas!!
If you had to add refrigerant for the 2nd time (last summer and yesterday) then you have a leak. May want to get someone to inject UV dye into the system and check the system for you.

Thats my next move. I have a co worker with the dye kit, so I'll use his. Thanks for the replies.
