I don't have a camera, so taking a pic is not possible at this time, but it was bolted to me header panel on the inside of the engine compartment, it says "Wells" then "short circuit protected" and had a harness clipped into it.
they are all full of $#!+. they have no clue what it is, but i do. it's your watchamacallit, it hooks up to the thingamajig and makes sure you don't overload your flux capacitor
if I had pics I'd send em on here, but i have no camera, I'd guess it's a Voltage Reg as well, but for what idk, the horn relay on my truck is in the passengers side panel about 9" from the starter solenoid, The header panel is what your headlight mounts are bolted to, and from what I see it's where the rad support bolts to as well.
A genuine Ford voltage regulator would have a yellow Motorcraft decal on its cover, or embossed Motorcraft on the cover, if it's the electronic replacement.
Genuine Ford horn relays have an ID number stamped on them, but not all these trucks have one. There are none on 1973/75's. 1976/77's have one as do 1978/79's with Cruise Control only.
Header panels are not used on trucks, but are used on some passenger cars beginning in 1967.
Excepting 1967/68 GT350/500's which were fiberglass, originally these were steel. Later on.....all were fiberglass.
The headlamps, grille and etc. attached to the header panel, which was painted body color, since it comprised the entire front end of the car, except the bumper, lower valance panel.
Anthony: Why are you further ragging on the OP by posting that stupid bouncing smilie? Berry1234 already ragged on him.
Open your peepers, kiddo and read what he typed in post #1. He made it perfectly clear...that he does not have a camera.
You want people to respect you, then you go and do something stupid like this.
I know he doesn't have a camera, He stated it about 3 times.
I was just simply "bragging!"
No harm done, so don't sweat it Bill.
Keep in mind that bragging only brings sometimes unwanted attention.
I'm not taking the ragging on to heart, so for both parties I take no offense, I wish I DID have a camera, I should have one in a few weeks.
I'm gonna try it from this approach.
I'm sure it's not a horn relay, although it should be with the placement on the vehicle, the relay I found for the horn, needs replaced, but it's the relay closest to your starter solenoid, ran the part number, came to a thread here where someone else had wondered what I was, and discovered that what it was.
The........Thing, or how to find it first off.
when you open your hood and shuffle over to the passenger side, and look down on your front panel i'll call it, Bill has made it clear that I was delirious in regards to a header panel, look down below your horn, or where it was supposed to be if you bought it after a PO relocated it or removed it all together, and there it is, if it's anything like mine, it's an obviously weathered tin box with a clip pluged in.....or just sitting there.....in some cases.
