Bamks Speedbrake???

Hello,

Just got my new issue of Diesel Power and I saw the ad for the Banks Speedbrake now offered for the 6.0.

Does anyone have any insight on this product?

Has anyone used it or know of someone who has it?

They compare it to PacBrake and BD which are obvious mechanical exhaust brakes, but their claims seem WAY TO GOOD TO BE TRUE.

Thanks for the help
Joe

Banks Power | 03-07 Ford - 6.0L Power Stroke>>Banks SpeedBrake?
After looking at it I would think it would be very hard on the tranny. The comparison to the BD exhaust brake is not true (at least per my experience). But I have a manual trans so it isn't really a fair comparison. I can go down a 6%+ grade and using the exhaust brake and down shifts I don't need to even touch the brakes untill the exhaust brake shuts off automatically at 20 mph. This is with towing a 7000lb horse trailer.

It utilizes the VGT vanes (closed I am assuming), the torque converter locks up and the tranny shifts into the appropriate gear.

I tow a 39' WW 5th wheel with no form of exhaust brake....granted I don't drive like an a**hole but my tow/haul does a pretty good job...I'm not sure how much better this setup would be

You can get tunes that utilize the VGT turbo to achieve the same thing that I think your talking about based on this post.
