I have no proof but have heard that we need to advance our timing a degree or two to match the newer ulsd fuel. Anybody have any thoughts or proof of this.
The timing on my 91 F350 non-turbo truck is still about a degree and a half advanced from when I set it up for 40% Biodiesel. Have not run 40% Biodiesel in over 2 years and have not noticed a difference with straight ULSD.
All diesel in the Province of British Columbia now has 3-5% biodiesel in it as it became a leagal requirement on January 1st, 2010.
I really have not noticed any difference with the timing advanced on either fuel consumption or performance.
Performance changes due to the 5% Biodiesel addition are also not noticable.
all i ve heard here in fla. is that ulsd it sucks and add power service or stanadyne or lucas 90 f350 7.3 c6 , 93 f250 e40d 4x4 7.3. stock 382.000 mainly hiway miles
Well it sucks everywhere, but we have to live with it. The only one I have tested mileage wise is howes in my big trucks and it does pay for itself in fuel mileage.
