Throwing a tire?

Well today I was going home from school. I put my Bronco into 4-wheel drive I was doing about 10 or 15. All of a sudden (It happend about 30 seconds after I put it in 4x4) my Bronco starts losing control and almost plows a parked Chevy. I narrowly missed it and went up on a curb, sending dirt everywhere. Strange... So I backed up and started going again my Bronco started pulling really hard to the right so I parked it and looked. Apperently my tire fell off the rim. I eventually got my spare on and drove home. I inspected the tracks before this and I noticed the tire fell off before I hit the curb so whats up? Anyone have a clue? Now I've got to go have the tire put back on the rim all the way in Boulder

Throwing a tire?

You didn't notice the tire going flat? Did you find where it had blown out, or had it gone down slowly?

Throwing a tire?

Driving in the snow, I could see where you wouldn't notice a flat. When it started fishing you probably tried to correct and just pulled the tire off. Just curious, what size tires do you have?
I remember in high school when the small Broncos were "new." The thing to do was swap out the 302 with a 351. The rear axles would stress crack and I personally knew two people with the same story, "going down the road, looked over and saw a tire pass me, it was mine." Both guys don't remember feeling anything untill they tried to pull over.
