I bought a top side valve spring compressor from NAPA. It was part number SER 2078. It was like $40.00. I altered mine though because it was hard on the hands. I cut the little wheel off and welded a nut on top. This made it much easier to use , but I could not get to the back two on the passangerside so I had to make a tool to get those.
Also I ordered all 16 rocker arms today from ford ($294.00) and they will be here later this week. I am just hoping that I did not bend a valve too!!!! Everybody keep your fingers crossed for me. I will try to post a few pictures.
cool. nice color choice too btw. close to the color of my F-150. what broke on your 2 rockers?? was it around the ball where it pivots or the straight end? i doubt you bent a valve, but if you did then you have an excuse to polish the ports, get hardened valve seats, install 32 exhaust valves(yes, no intake valves), 3 angle grind 'em, and then you'll be in business.
They broke in the center around the little ball bearing. One of them broke in two spots (on the top and bottom) and has about a quarter inch gap where it broke. I will try to post some pictures in the morning. And I agree I will get some head work done if I do have a bent valve, but I really hope that I don't because I do not have the funds for that right now and I want my truck back!!

think you'd be surprised. i got probably $1200 in my heads and i did WOP valve seats, all exhaust valves(exhaust valves are harder than the intake valves), performance valve job, new valve seals, a buddy of mine and i polished the ports ourselves, comp 910's, decked .015", etc. considering getting them cryo'd, but don't think i will. i'm going with the hi rev springs from hypermax or Hamilton's new springs when he brings them out. want something around 130-150lbs seat pressure and the 910's didn't meet that. in order for me to get that from the 910's with shims i fear they might bind or something at higher RPMs. they are good for your truck as it is right now though.
Jegs has a DIY port/polish kit that we bought to do my ports. works, but takes FOREVER to do them... don't know that i would wanna do it again. LoL.
Sorry it took so long but here are some pictures of the broken rocker arms.
Also just to let everyone know the truck is back together and running good!! I finished it up on Friday night and have been driving it every sence and so far so good.
glad to hear ya got it running. was your truck showing any symptoms from these busted rockers??? i didn't think to check my rockers when i put in my DI pushrods, but wouldn't be surprised if there were a few broken since this engine has seen 4k RPM several times on accident.
