hey guys just picked up a 93 f-150 5.0 auto its shifting really hard im assuming i have e40d.. door label has a T in the trans spot.. ok already checked the VSS, speedometer is not jumping, and i noticed today that there is a wire hanging from under the glove box unpluged and marked PSOM.. I also do not have a mlps on the trans just a throttle cable.. does anyone know about the wire hanging and do i have a e40d my pan has 14 bolts thanks

Check your TV cable to see if it is adjusted correctly. If that throttle valve is opened up all the way it increases the line pressure and either hangs the gears open longer or shifts hard. (IIRC) The E4Od has an electric solenoid to control the line pressue (IIRC.) Either that or there is some gunk in the valve body hanging up a valve and upping the pressure.
