Time for the shortbed mod
There is a 97 dodge 2wd cummins auto driving around saco maine thats lowered and tuned. Id love to have a fast 2wd but cant justify it for what i do with my truck. So ill settle for a "fast" 4x4. Im sad though because my friend has a 97 xcab cummins, compound setup making 80-100psi depending on water or no water. (keeps blowing gaskets though, and now a tranny)

very nice. every 2wd drive I have every owned has been on the ground and I love the look.

Couple a q's though I am sure you have covered them in other threads

1: How did you drop the front?

2: Did you notch the frame in the back

Jim, sorry bro i hope you dont mind me answering these but i know you working right now...

1. For the front he put in DJM Front 3" drop I beams which completely replaced the front I Beams.

2. No notching of the frame needed. For the rear he used Suspension Maxx reverse hangers and drop shackles to go down 5".

Take a look at this thread for some pictures of what we did:

It just seems me that it would be harder to get under your truck when the wife has a honey-do and you tell her that you need to work on 'The Truck'... ie. Nap Time...

So do I, and my 2WD is about to get leveled the other way (bringing the front UP).

It would look cool with some tubs in the back, if you stuff enough fuel & air in it to support the look. Heck, I'd do it if I wanted a mostly dedicated race truck!

Those who know Jim know a wife will never be an isse for him. Somehow we got on the topic of weddings and Jim's quote was "I hate funerals."

I meant no disrespect to Jim, if that is what is thought. It was only a general statment of loosing a place to get 'lost' under.
