I have a ? about locking hub caps...
A friend of mine said that someone locked one of his friend's hub caps up today...he said it can cause problems with the drive shaft and transfer case, is it true? They tried accusing someone else of doing it so I was just wondering if it could be something else too, or if what they said wasn't true.
Hope this makes sense.
Thanks

I used to have a locking hub cap for a Plymouth- But that only went on the rear-mounted spare.
Locking the hubs in in 2wd is fine, and generally recommended when you may encounter conditions that require the use of 4wd. That way, you aren't getting out in those conditions to lock up.
It's also a good idea to lock in the hubs every couple months or put it in 4x4 with the hubs unlocked to keep everything lubed and moving freely.
