Exclamation Vent windows

Hey guys I am having problems finding the frames that attach to the glass on my vent wondows for my 66 f100. On both of my vent windows the top pivot point is broken off. Is there anywhere that i can find these? Any help will be very much appreciated.

I am not sure if anyone makes them maybe someone can chime in. But if you have a few frames that has those in good shape but glass broke you can take your glass out and put in other frames. I bought the webbing at a glass cutter for mine and fixed one like that. I also had one good frame that had that broke but I had another that had that part good but a bad frame. I drilled out the rivets and put the good one in the good frame. Its amazing how you can fix something out of necessity. One word of advice if you replace the seals around the windows make sure the rubber you get is made by someone autorized by ford to make them. The door, front windows ,back windows on mine were not and fit good. But these were not and I cant shut the windows. I am going to get some new ones that are authorized by Ford as equal to original. otherwise it will break if you shut them .

The following fit: 1961/66 F100/1100 / 1961/69 N/NT500/1000 / 1967/69 F800/1000.

C1TZ8121608B .. Right Vent Frame / Obsolete

MANDERBACH FORD in Temple PA has 1 = 888-225-4364.

HEMINGWAY FORD in Andrews SC has 1 = 843-264-5243.

GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has 17 = 800-543-4959.
----------------------------------------------------------
C1TZ8121609B .. Left Vent Frame / Obsolete

No Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.
=====================================
C3TZ8121464A .. Right Vent Frame Upper Pivot Bracket / Obsolete

MANDERBACH FORD has 1.
--------------------------
C3TZ8121465A .. Left Vent Frame Upper Pivot Bracket / Obsolete

WESLEY OBSOLETE PARTS in Liberty KY has 1 = 606-787-5293.

GREEN SALES CO. has 18.

This bracket is S shaped. Attaches the inner vent frame to the outer retainer that the weatherstrip fits into.

Willy3486: There is no such thing as FoMoCo authorizing anyone to make reproduction parts.

Anyone can reproduce anything they want to. What the so-called authorized jazz pertains to is this:

Ford requires a license fee if repro parts sellers want to use the original Ford part numbers.

Most repro parts sellers make up their own part numbers, because Ford charges MEGA BUCKS for this priviledge.

Dennis Carpenter is, AFAIK, the only repro parts seller to use Ford part numbers, which means he's "authorized" in this sense of the word.

Carpenter also has the original Ford tooling used to make some of his repro parts.

Numberdummy you said it better than I could have. I didn't mention Carpenter because I didn't want anyone to get mad if there was a approved vendor here. But I believe that is who I was suggested to get the vent window replacement from. Mine does not fit good even though it was suppose to be the same as original. If he is on the east coast I think maybe Carolina I believe thats him. I bought some door handles on ebay that was their "rejects" They have turned out better than some of the "best" out there. I bought a chrome tailgate handle from another company. My truck stays in a garage and does not get wet, etc. The chrome on the tailgate handle peeled up after a year or so. It was some of the worst plating I have ever seen.

The vent frames are obsolete. The only genuine Ford vent frames to be found are NOS. I listed the sources that have (the right side only) in post #3.

No one has the left side. I found some NOS right/left side vent frame pivot brackets. Maybe that will solve the vent frame problem, maybe not.

Thanks guys but I am a little confused as to what the parts you listed are? The piece that broke off of my truck is the pivot piece on the glass side not the truck side. In other words ith the hole that slides on the pole at the top. Sorry if me being confused is a hassle.

There is a small S shaped upper pivot bracket (some ppl call it a hinge) that attaches to the upper portion of the vent frame, then attaches to the channel that the vent window weatherstrip fits into.

If this bracket will not fix the problem, you'll have to replace the vent frame, as there is nothing else in this location that was available separately.

Just went though the samething on my 66 F100 4x4, the pivot point on the frame broke. A member on here, Steveh, lives in the next town over from me gave me a frame that was rusted, but the pivot was good. Drilled out the rivets and put it into my frame. Just as stated above, window RR'd easy.

As a 'newbie' was not sure if you can receive an email. Sent link to possible source. Also, as bertha66 mentioned, not difficult to repair, drill out rivel and install new. Problem is locating correct hinge.

If you're refering to the upper S shaped pivot bracket as the hinge, I found 1 right side and 19 left sides NOS.

See post #3 for the part numbers and sources who have them.
