I just got my 97 expedition and the sub does not seem to work. It is not cracking there is no just no sound. The fuze under the hood is not broke. So I was wondering if there is another fuze or it is just broke?
The subs are prone to blowing. If the previous owner was anything like me, he got tired of listening to the blown speaker and unplugged it. You can remove the little panel that covers the sub but it is easier to just pull all the big pieces to check it out. There is a little clip that connects the sub to the amp. Then again, maybe the amp is shot. WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT BUY THE OUTRAGEOUS PRICE THE DEALER WILL CHARGE. Go to a stereo shop and have them put an aftermarket speaker in. I put a JL single coil in and it is far superior.
the sub unfortunately is not available on the XLT...only you guys with the EB can get the MACH system. DON'T even get me started on the marketing geniuses at Ford that put the option packages together.
Anyone know if the XLT's are prewired for the sub? I was going to take apart the back and look myself this weekend but if someone already knows ican jst go ahead and get one off of ebay or something.
