6 volt circuit breakers

My 52' F-1 is being converted over to 12 volt, and there is one unanswered question. Can the original 6 volt circuit breakers be used with a 12 volt system. I am running only the original items on the truck: running lights, interior/dash lights, and horns?

The truck you are working on is a '52, but if they are anything like the earlier truck, then yes you can use the 6 volt circuit breaker. When I converted my '46 I left the original circuit breakers with zero problems. I believe they work off amperage, and the 12 volt system actually uses less amps than the 6 volt systems.

Smile Thanks Gary

I thought the same as you do. However, I wanted tocheck to make sure I was on the right track before I had to put out a dashboard electrical fire or something along thoses lines.
Thanks again.
