I am new here. I lurked for about a day or so and decided to sign up.
This past week I bought a 94 F-150 XLT.
It is the extended cab, short bed, has the 5.8L 4X4 automatic.
Has just over 152,000 miles and the only thing it needs is some rust repair. other wise its great!
My question is where can I find what options the truck has? I read some were online that these 4X4's had some gear options but I have no idea what they would be or how to determine if that info is even correct.
It also has a unique paint setup. It is white, with a medium grey stripe across the bottom. Kind of how the eddie bauers had the tan across the bottom. I looked through the thread of all the pictures and have not seen another one like this, so I am wondering if there is something special about this paint style.
You can also look on the drivers door post and look for the axle code. Once you find it, post it here and someone can direct you to a code chart or just tell you what it is.
Only the rear will be limited slip. However the front will be the same ratio.
If you do a fluid change on the front and read diffs make sure you use either the gear oil with the LS additive in it or get the additive seperately and put it in with the straight gear oil in the rear diff.
