How much HP would be possible from the factory SD if you put a cam, Trick Flow or like aluminium heads, upper and lower intake, and pistons for around 9 to 9.5 comp??? I was hoping for around 350 to 400, but I don't know for sure.
Also is it better to do a valve body or just a shift kit with a performance build on the E40D trans. What are some good places to get parts like valve body's and converters???
MAF is better able to adapt to changes than SD but the further an engine is away from stock the more additional help it will need in the form of tuning to operate reasonably well. IMO "reasonable well" is defined as an engine that starts and idles with near stock quality, no surging or stalling every time you come to a stop, and good power without excessive fuel consumption. This can be achieved with something like a GT40 topend and 24lb injector/MAF combo on an otherwise stock bottom end but beyond that it takes additional tuning to get something that resembles normal EFI performance.
