I have a leaking drain valve on my radiator. A drop every 5 seconds. It's a replacement radiator about 2 years old. Proliance 433433. It's a plastic drain valve. I can't find any replacements or rubber washers for this thing. Any ideas?
Is it the valve itself or the fitting (where it fits into the radiator) that is leaking?? In other words is it like the valve isn't closing all the way? I had this problem once on a replacement radiator for a '95 F150, I simply went to the hardware store and bought a brass "cap" and force-threaded it onto the draincock outlet with some teflon tape, never leaked again (had the truck another 8 years) And the beauty of it, you can still take the cap off to drain the radiator.. Hope this helps..
I just replaced mine from O'reileys. There were two sizes so make sure to know what size yours is and buy a new one. Very cheap, under 10 bucks if I remember right. Dont waste your time with trying to patch it up for that amount of money. Fix it right. Takes about 2 minutes after the radiator is drained.
I had the same thing and I adapted a brass 90 degree drain valve. A heck of a lot easier to drain the coolant with it aimed at the bucket rather than having it shoot straight back towards the cross member.

I just saw that DC sells this type of plug that shoots down. $4. 1/4" by 18 threads.
