transmission problems
I have an 89 f150 with a 5.o l i took it to the shop with only 1 & 2 working & was told the 3-4 accumulator piston was missing. I then read that in 89 they did away with the 3-4 piston. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

i had something simalar happen to me not to long ago. all my gears dropped all i had was first and second and i would slip in and out of 3rd i mean i would bump on third and it was gone. i just pulled the tranny and replaced it. Hope your not having the same thing with your though

thanks for the info. My brothers swaped trany's with another 89 it was working great before but now only goes to 2nd gear then nothing. i took it to the shop cuz i figured they didn't hook it up right lol
