Hi all,
Ijust bought an 01 Expedition
Real clean one owner 80k miles
I'm planning to use it to tow on the weekends.
It won't be a daily driver.
I have a couple of questions for the experts.
Were these available with larger towing mirrors form the factory?
Are Expedition and F150 tailights interchangeable?
Funny you should mention that!!!
I'm shopping for tires right now. However I don't think I'm going with the BFG's. I plan to tow quite a bit so I want more of a highway tread.
There are a lot of choices out there but I'm partial to the Toyo Open Country A/T Tires. They have a good tread design and last for a long time. I've been running on a set now for 25K miles and to look at them you'd swear I just put them on last week. Any tire that has the LT in it's number is what you need to look at. The LT (Light Truck) gives you a higher PSI, load range, and a stiffer sidewall. http://toyotires.com/tire/pattern/open-country-at

Thanks alloro! Good looking tire too! Thanks for the link!
The DuraGrappler is a sweet tire for on road use but it sucks that it is not available in the 265/70/17 10 ply. A 285/70/17 should fit with no problems. If you live in the northern parts of the country you might want to go to the TerraGrappler for better snow traction. Those Discoverer H/T's are also a great tire but they are a P metric. How much weight and how far you going when you tow?

I do live in the heart of New England but I'm not worried qbout winter traction. The truck won't be a daily driver. I bought it just for camping. I have an 04 Super Duty for the nasty white stuff.
I will be towing a 5200lb travel trailer and who knows how far
depends how long I can be away from work!!!
