Has anyone seen or accomplished this feat... I have 99 F350 and curious if it is fairly easy or even possible to convert to the 2008-2010 front end look, I was planning on converting to the 05-07 front but, thought I would check and see if anyone has any knowledge or seen the 2008-2010 look done yet.
It is definetly not a bolt on conversion.... The frame rails are spaced different and EVERYTHING mounts different. It would be possible, but only for someone who is very skilled in body work/custom work. Would require alot of welding and fab..... I would also think that by the time you bought the parts you would have spent a TON of cash.
as the above mentioned its neither cheap nor EASY..
the price of the parts alone make it not really feasible.
better off to just buy the truck you want. not only will you gain the look of the 08+ trucks plus you get all the benefits of the newer designs such as the torqshift and better engine power.

I would guess that if you went through a ford dealer you could spend around 10k on all the parts for the conversion. While you are correct about the benefit of the newer design I would still rather have a 7.3...... I have honestly thought about looking for a 08+ with bad motor (fire possibly) to drop a 7.3 into
keep in mind the newer trans cant be controled with the older motors.
from 05 up the auto trans is integrated with the motor, in terms of controls.
I wasnt thinking a 7.3 would bolt up to a stock 08 trans anyway. I figured if i ever did it I would have to use the trans that goes with the 7.3. The only variable that I dont know how to work around is the gauges.... I would use the engine, trans, computers, wiring, etc from the 7.3, but dont know about gauges.... Its kinda a dream anyway, probably will never happen.
its been done, like they said its not real easy but with junk yard parts/aftermarket parts can be done rather cheaply. i've been debating this swap myself on my '04 excursions..there was a guy awhile back that put a '08 front end on his '00 excursion after a wreck and had alot of pics i'll try to find it.
