hey guys i got a 95 f150 with i guess what you would call three bucket seats? anyways ive got two and then the third one lays down into a arm rest. but i was wondering what would be involved to switch to a different kind of seats. no really looking for a bench seat but maybe something like two bucket seats out of a bronco? what would i need to do to get them to fit? has anyone done anything like this? im guessing that i would need the two seats and the tracks to bolt to the bottom of the cab?
thanks guys
Look at the bottom of your seats and see if it has 8 bolts holding it down (4 bolts for each of the 2 outside seats) or 4 bolts.
If you have 4 bolts (2 on each side of the truck, then it is a bench frame and you will have to drill holes to put in bucket seats.
If there are 8 bolts, then you have the 3 piece design and buckets should just drop in (may need to drill holes for the center counsole.
Where are you located, I might buy the seat you have now?
I am in dekalb Illinois Home of Northern illinois University.
ill look tomorrow to make sure but i think i have the three piece design. when you say the bucket seats will just drop right in what bucket seats r u refering to? bronco seats or other f150 seats?
by the way im located in charleston west virginia.
If your truck is a regular cab, you have the 40-20-40 that bolts in w/ 4 bolts.
Bronco seats will not bolt in.
If you are dead set on a console instead of the center seat you can unbolt the center seat and bolt a console in its place but it will sit way high.
it is the 40/20/40. the reason i was wondering is because its a 5 speed and having a third person in there usually doesnt happen and when it does its very crowded and hard to change gears. i was thinking that i would much rather have just an empty space or maybe a little console there.
The bucket seats I am reffering to should be the same in the broncos as in the pickups. They are actually very similar to what you have now except they have armrests that are attached to the seat, and the center counsole is a plastic storage bin with cupholders
I'll try to get pics up this evening, but I took the bench seat out and put in 2 bucket seats out of a 98 contour. Seats are about 1/2 inch higher sitting than the bench, and pretty much fit the floor design. I did have to drill and reinforce the mounts for them, but IMO very well worth the extra space between the seats (I opted for a cup holder console, I think I'm in heaven now!!!)
