OK I'm installing it myself, I bought and installed a T-harness to the ignition wiring under the steering column, I have to say it'd have been much easier had I dropped my hand control bracket, but that'd be more work, "think smarter, not harder." I did not enjoy removing the head light switch, but I got it out and tapped the parking light wire, I like to get things down, so I can use my voltmeter to be certain I have the right wire. I'm hung up on the horn wire, it's not on the particular harness I installed, the start site said it's a dark blue wire, I haven't located it yet. I also would like to locate the power door lock wiring to tap into it, I hear there is something behind a panel, but have not located it. All that stuff drove me nutz the other day, I plugged it in for fun, without the horn, tach, doors, and hood pin switch install, I could not get it to work, so I gave up. The tach is where you tap into a coil or injector wire, oh I'll have none of that mess, call it paranoia but I don't plan to make possible, a short into my engine compartment. I'll have everything pulled and tied up nice and tight, the steel bracket in there with all it's threaded bolt holes screams to fasten this stuff neatly to it.
Just installed the Bulldog Extended Range RS1200. Quite impressed with the information on their site. All the wireing diagrams needed etc. Sadly did not have their T harness for my 2005 e350 and that added about an hours work, but not so bad! Mine allowed for a tachless run, so did not have to tap into the tach signal.
My door locks wanted a negative (ground) to lock/unlock and were located behind the foot panel that holds the hood release in it. "If vehicle has a FACTORY KEYLESS ENTRY, PINK/YELLOW is LOCK, and PINK/LIGHT GREEN is UNLOCK." they list that for econolines 1997-2008.
I have no clue on factory key less, bought it used, dang thing is loaded with everything, the used lot got it at auction, anything is possible.
Yeah, it has a tachless setting, my lock hookup is negative too, need the horn.
This is ext range, has an antenna you secure somewhere for a pick up, already ran it under the dash, left the rest coiled up on top until I'm done, so far all the ignition stuff is done, as well as the marker lights, held up by the horn and door locks. I really don't want to pull that kick panel again, my power seat base track is on the door trim, so I can't pull it up to ease the panel in and out, almost didn't get it back in. What would indicate a factory keyless setup?
Either way, the bulldogsecurity site says the wires are in the kick panel. Got mine off with alittle work but did not need to take off the stepwell panel.
chances are you got factory remotes, you will know if the pink wites are there.
