I just bought a used '09 F350. Very nice truck. CC, LB, 4X4 Lariat and I'm looking forward to this year's RVing season.
When I had my '05 F250 with the 6.0L, I liked the modest mods I did to her. I think she did, too. 4" MBRP turbo-back, Accu-Fab intake elbow, and S&B cold air intake; basically mods to allow the truck to breath easier, thus work a little easier. I towed our 8,000 lb. travel trailer from here to Orlando and back twice, other multiple camping trips, and constant working in my landscape business pulling trailers full of equipment. I even tried a SuperChips Flashpaq reprogrammer and didn't like it as much as stock.
So now that I have the 6.4L, is there really anything out there worthwhile to add to this truck? I can't imagine a 4" exhaust just on the end is really worth it. I'm not going to do anything extreme like reprogramming, DPF deletes, or anything more. Am I missing anything?
If you install any aftermarket devices on your truck Ford can void your warranty. Just depends on the dealer. Some aftermarket air intakes will cause your truck to throw a code for mass air flow too high. Just depends on which one you get.
I really don't think you need a intake unless you are going to use a programmer. DPF back exhaust won't yield any results either as the exhaust is already pretty good sized. Could lower your temps DPF back and change the sound.

This is what I suspected. My dealer's service department is really cool and I try to throw all my service work their way on both my work trucks and my wife's Freestyle. They treat me great and most of the time, they're very competitively priced. I even bought my Flashpaq from them mentioned in my OP so I know they'd help overlook what I consider "stupid codes". These are codes caused by an intake or better exhaust, not by reprogramming or anything more extreme.
But that being said, it would be just my luck to have some trouble while on the road pulling the camper. I can just see me down in south Georgia headed to Disneyworld and end up at some dealership getting repairs and because of some "stupid code", my truck gets marked and my warranty is done.
Ironically, the mods I only consider are in my opinion, mods which actually help the truck. I work my trucks hard, I don't race them or sling mud every weekend. But what I focused on with my 6.0L was to help it inhale and exhale a little easier. It was a fantastic truck and as hard as I worked it, it responded everyday eager and ready to go.

Really? My 6.0 had a Magnaflow cat back exhaust and Innovative tunes via an SCT Xcal2. Also did ARP studs and EGR cooler block plug. The tow program is what the truck should have been - it wasnt that high a power level because towing max weight didnt heat things up that much, but with enhanced tow/haul, turbo braking via the VGT vanes, firmer Torqshift shifting, refined shift points, and EGR disable the truck felt so much better than stock for towing.
The higher power levels I had were one for light towing and a higher hp that was my daily driver but didnt tow with that one...
As much as my 6.0 was very, very problematic, once all the stuff was corrected, the truck was something spectacular!!!
The 6.4 feels like a much more refined platform on which to build - I will do a Spartan tune / DPF delete / CAI. I wont run higher than 210 hp though because exercising restraint isnt my forte

Hey, why you pickin on us? The country boys in GA aren't likely to get too up tight over a few mods, heck they'll probably sell you the stuff to do it. Just make sure if you have a yankee tag that you have the money to pay your bill.

My fault. I meant to say somewhere around Jacksonville. Yeh, that's what I meant.
