Exclamation Problems re-starting a cold engine

Hi Everyone,

I have a 1991 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition; 139,000 miles on it. When I start the engine, the first time it will fire right up. However, if for some reason, I need to turn it off before it warms up, it will only turn over the next time I try to start it. I have discovered if I hold down the gas pedal, it will start up again. This morning I had to hold it down for awhile before it would start running again! Am i missing something very basic? Is this common?

If anyone has any ideas, it'd be great to hear them!

Thanks,

Jimmy Lee

Run the codes on it. Sounds like it may be the throttle position sensor or the ignition control module.

Run the codes and see if it gives you any ideas.
