So I was pretty sure I posted this up here after after a good search it appears my memory has served me wrong
I begin my Migration westward May 1st! I will Leave New Bern NC, the wife and I decided on the most indirect route to San Diego. were gonna start off heading through all the New England states. they are the only of the lower 48 we have not been through. While we are up there were gonna go to the Canadia border wave and turn around and continue the treck thru the northern states till we get to Washington state were I have family.
Points of interst along the way in No Perticular order.
1: WA DC
2: in PA the towns of: Blue ***** PA, to alliviate and build up were then gonna hit up Intercourse PA and probly wind up in Paradise PA
3: Samual Adams Factory in Boston.
4: Niagra Falls
5: Being from Oregon the next 2 stops seem pretty important. Oregon Ohio and Oregon Illinois.
6: Crazy Horse Monument
7: Mount Rushmore
8: Yellowstone
9: Little Big Horn
10: Missoula Montana (my place of Birth)
11: Seattle Wa (Family)
12: Great State of Oregon!
13: San Diego final Stop.
Sounds like you've missed Maine, Vt and New Hampshire.
I would recommend a scenic trip in Maine. Taking Rt1 all the way you could stop in many small towns, eat fresh "lobstah" and sleep in any number of B&B's. Making your way along Rt1 and Rt1a, you'll eventually come to Bar Harbor "Bah Habah" which is the home of Acadia Nat'l park and one of the Eastern most points INCONUS. Acadia National Park Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce Maine
At any rate, no matter where you go and how you get there, have a safe and wonderful trip.
From NC, you could jump onto I40 and head all the way to Flagstaff, AZ, through Oklahoma and Texas. In Groom, TX, right along side the interstate, is the largest cross I've ever seen: CROSS OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST MINISTRIES
At any rate, have a safe and fun trip. My plans for the future include trying to see more of the good ol' USA a little at a time. I spent so many years driving across the coutnry without ever getting the chance to stop and visit any of the things I've seen, I feel like I've missed out.
Enjoy it!
As you head south towards San Diego from Washington you'll have a choice of I-5 or hwy. 101. I'd recommend 101, especially after you cross into California as I-5 becomes straight and boring all the way down through the Central Valley while 101, being just inland from the coast for most of the way is much more interesting, with many more good places to stop and things to do than you'll find along I-5. 101 also takes you directly across the Golden Gate and into San Francisco, which is not to be missed.
Feel free to contact me if you want more specific info on places to see and things to do in Calif.

Thanks, But the West Coast states is where i Grew up. Im pretty familiar. with them However one place I have not been is the sequoia national park. Ill save that one for a little later though. The Main reason is because me and the wife have been to just about every state in the lower 48 with an exception of the New England states, Michigan, Wisconson and Minnesota. we will visit these states and Im glad its thru the northern half of the US Last few trips I have had to go thru the south and I have become bored with the it.
