Im looking to get rid of my cat today because its holding back the real tone of my super 44 muffler. I live in Canada so Im aloud to do so. I was wondering do it have to be a special type of pipe to weld in its place? I have my old stock exhaust system lying around and would I be able to chop the old tailpipe up and put it in the cats place?
The easiest way to do it, is to just take the cat off and knock out the ceramic honeycomb with a hammer and a rod of some sort, and bolt it back on.
That is unless the connections are all rusted up, then I may be easier just to cut it off and weld or clamp in a pipe.
Make sure you dont have any inspections first. If its just a visual insp, then I suggest the first method.
Good luck
