I have a 2002 Ford Explorer. The transmission was rebuilt around 10000 miles ago. The truck only has 86000 miles on it and now it's not wanting to shift. When I accelerate it will only shift if I lift off the pedal, in every gear. When I lift a little it shifts ok. The transmission is still under warranty, but I have to take it an hour away and leave it for them to check it out. I know the speed sensor causes some problems like this.
Does anyone know all the symptoms of a speed sensor going bad? Is it only shifting, or other things as well? I was told that it could be the solenoid pack going bad in the tranny, but I think usually the solenoids go bad 1 at a time and not for every gear.
