Yeah, longer trucks tend to need a little more lift to get over tall bumps or obstacles in the trail. Out where we ride, there was an extended cab 97-03 that set about the same height as mine, but had trouble following because of the longer wheel base. He had good tires and plenty of power, but he drug that belly over everything..... So far as I saw his run, he only got stuck once, but the pit he tried to cross was in bad shape, and only a couple people made it through that day (I wasn't brave enough to pick a losing fight with that particular mud hole...)
I like the nerf bars ok. I've got some black ones on mine. Got into a tree on a trail and bent up the one on the passenger side pretty good. Saved my door, though. They're up for replacement with a set of rock sliders in the near future....
I'm diggin' on that light bar a l'il bit too......
