I would want to filter it additionally myself, if they truly filtered it to 1 micron themselves you should be fine, I just don't know if I would want to lay out that kind of trust.

Thanks i know what you mean.Do i have to buy a machine to get it filterd to 1 micron?
I would recommend you do A LOT of reading before you go pouring veg oil in your truck. You do not want to put it in your main tank. You do not want to share your diesel filter with veg oil.
But if it is filtered to 1 micron, that is very good. It should be de-watered also, and be able to pass the Hot Pan Test.
I have burned VO for 3 years and 68k miles so far. its a home brew system with lots of Idea's thanks to Jason at Veggistroke.
I would still filter my oil if it was out of the box new jsut to make sure. and I do NOT recomend mixing. yes it can be done (cause I have read or know one person doing it), but its not something i would do. VO needs to be heated and you truck will purr. even quieter than dino.
From what I have learned from hours & hours in the classroom, I would not run WVO. The molecules in WVO are not the same size and shape as those of petro diesel. They have been shown to carmelize and clog injection systems over time. I know there are lots of guys running it and that is their choice. The findings I have seen were done in a controlled test environment at MATC here in Wis. Personally I would not.
However if that WVO gets processed through transesterification, it becomes what they call biodiesel. This can be done with a simple system like the Apple seed processor or far more advanced. The molecules of biodiesel are much more like those of petro diesel. They are much more easily passed through the injection systems. Biodiesel can be mixed with petrodiesel in any amount or run as B100 (no blend) without any mods to your truck or fuel system temperature permitting. The major drawbacks are cloud points are at a higher temp and availability. There are benefits with bio too. Too many to list here.
