Repair Heated Seats in 2004 F250
My driver’s side seat stopped working so I decided to install the H3 kit from HeatedSeatKits and I still wanted to use the original switch so here is how I did it.
The directions in the kit and on line are great for the removal and installation of the heating pads so I am not going to repeat this. I did take the seat out of my truck to make it easier to work on, 3 torx bolts, a nut and unplug the harness was all it took.
Any wiring diagrams I found mentioned a controller unit under the seat which I did not find. These diagrams seemed to be for older 2000 units. My old driver’s side pad contained two thermal limiting switches which I think, once supplied with 12V controlled the temperature. I did not know if the pads from the HeatedSeatKit had these thermal limiting switches so I installed them using their controller. My wife says this setup is hotter than the passenger seat which is still running the Ford elements.
