Officially Pissed!!
My heart dropped! Later i called and they said they would have to keep it 'cause they had to get a special tool (what? don't they have that tool on-hand already!?)
Make a long story short, they kept the truck 3 days and charged me $375.00. I said to myself well, i saved some money in the end so it's OK. My contentment quicky disapeared when i drove the truck away and it felt funny, it was idling rough and seem have a very slight miss. I tryed to rationalize it by saying to my self that maybe the computer needs to get used to the new plugs or something.
The next day (saturday) i decided to install the one-piece plugs myself anyway; figuring the plugs they put-in would be easy to take out. I was shocked when i lifted the hood - every thing still looked intact! I mean, there was still loose dirt around all the spark plug holes and none of the coils look like had even been touched.
Not wanting to believe what was becoming obvious (they did not replace the plugs and still charged me) i went ahead and remove the coil from the easiest one (front driver). Dirt and debry fell inside the well so i blew it out - this is where my heart almost stopped! I looked down the well at the spark plug and not only could i tell it wasn't new - THE HAD ROUNDED-OUT THE PLUG!! - so the socket could'nt grab it.
Like OP, had gone a little long (110K miles) but i would'nt have let them do it if they had not fooled me into beliving they knew what they was doing.
I'm going to confront them first thing tomorrow expecting a fight - wish me luck!
