I need a little advice. I went looking for Fleetguard DCA4 around
the St. Pete area where I live. In most parts stores it would seem
I was speaking in Japanese. I finally found a guy at RingPower that
said he had an equivalent but when I went there it was only a
regular cooling system additive. I ended up in a NAPA store. The
salesman there told me that NAPA Kool which they carried was the
same stuff. I bought it and brought home but before I open it I'd
like to be sure I'm doing what I started out trying to do and that
is protecting my cylinder walls from cavitation. Is anyone familiar
with Kool and is it the same stuff?
Napa cool is The napa brand name for it, did you get the test strips for it with some antifreese you don't even need it, and too much is supposed to be as bad as not enough.
Go to IH dealer to get DCA4 and the strips, just make sure you check the date on the strips. Much cheaper than Ford dealer. I don't think Napa Kool and DCA4 mix or use the same strips.
I was looking at Fleetrite precharged at Tractor Supply yesterday, but could not find out if it is a DCA4 additive or not. The fleetguard anti freeze from IH that I have been useing, no longer says it is low silicate.
OK guys, I guess this stuff will work then. During a recent freeze here in Florida, I put regular antifreeze in to protect the cooling system. After reading the info similar to what StarMilt sent me, I decided I needed the DCA4 or equivalent. I will put this in right after lunch. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.
