Radiator Additive

Guys,
Tried looking for the required additive for the Radiator this weekend. Hit all of the local shops (autozone, orielly's, napa) and no one had a clue what I was talking about. Where do you all get your additive and what is a good brand/maker? Hoping I was just too dumb to see it in the store so I don't have to special order the stuff. what do yo all run (DCA2 or DCA4)?

Any Ford dealer parts counter should have it. It's pretty cheap.

DCA 2 or DCA 4... anyone have a preference or know why one is better than the other?
Thanks,

DCA 2 is what you need Mike. Get some test strips too. Check the expiration date on them before your purchase. The are time sensitive.

Negative, came in a round white bottle and it's called NapaKool. I can't find the p/n on Google but I'll check it out tonight.

NapaKool is DCA2. Our trucks came with DCA4. Any heavy duty truck shop will have it. Ford has it at the dealer, they call it SCA.

If I read the other threads in the 99-03 forum correctly, the DCA-2 is a better adative because it only contains nitrates and not a mix of the moly####. The DCA 2 is easier to keep regulated and the nitrates are the best cavitation stoppers. is that right?

I oopsed in my earlier post. DCA-2 is what the VC-8 / FW-16 additive is. The DCA-4 is a different formulation. There has been many discussions on compatibility. Stick with the Motorcraft product.
