Differentials?????

In the video at this address;

YouTube - Ford Excursion OFF Road-The Best

you can see, starting at 2:49 -as well as other points-, the front driver side tire spinning and the passenger side tire static.

It is disappointing to see.

What type of front differential does the Ex's have? Manufacturer?

You can pick up a Lock Rite locker under $400 for the Dana 50 and install it yourself....

European plates, Russian accents, 6-8 inches of snow, and that was the best they could do? It's not the differentials, it's the driver.

This is why Communism failed.

I would disagree this is all driver.....Their availability to aftermarket parts is very limited there....Its likely besides maybe suspension and tires, that that truck is quite stock. Its also deceptive to see someone coming up a hill, a true video should have the camera set level to see true grade. As it appears he doesnt have limited slip even which would limit his ability to traverse uneven slippery terrrain.

That is normal for any part-time 4x4. Standard diffs send power to the wheel with the least traction.

The limited slip Track-Lock was an option for the Excursions rear axle, but not offered for the front Dana 50.

Here's everything you ever wanted to know about traction aides:
