I need help my trucks headlights and plow lights arent working. All of my running light, clearance lights, interior lights are working just the headlights arent working. Any suggestions?
The quickest easiest place to check it is the dimmer switch in the floor(if you have a earlier truck that has one). Unplug the wires and with the headlight switch on, probe the wires for voltage. One of them should have 12v. If you get no voltage on any of the wires, the problem is going to be upstream and the next stop would be the headlight switch.
If you get voltage, then plug the switch back in and then check for voltage on one of the other wires. You should get voltage on one of them. One wire is the voltage coming from the headlight switch, and the other two are the high and lowbeam wires.
if your running your plow lights off of your headlights without running them through a relay your headlight switch is cooked.i would pull the headlight switch and look at the plug and the back of the switch i would bet they are black and brown
my headlights werent working when i bought my truck. It was the dimmer switch. plus it made it a whole lot easier to push it down. the original one was all "crunchy"
the plow lights have a relay switch so im leaning to the dimmer switch or the power to them but i havnt gotten around to checking it yet but thanks for the help.also could someone tell me exactly how many quarts of oil the engine should take
