actually the 88-91 gen 7.5L 460 has more torque than the 7.3 IDI and Turbo, as well as the 5.4L (with exception to the Harley Davidson and I think it was the Lightning editions). The power stroke has the mid 500 ft. lbs of torque and of course hands down puts the 460 in its place. But horsepower? haha could care less so long as its over 200. Mind me when I say my pick-ups are work trucks and not for racing.

And as for the superduty. There sure as hell is a F-350 Superduty as well as a F-250 Superduty. My buddy HAS a F-350 Superduty and my other has a F-250 Superduty. And yes they are both 4WD. We don't believe in 2WD we're from Idaho, 2WD here is for the ruh-tards and Californians.

But anyways that was , but the transfer case I don't see being a problem because I will be buying a under/overdrive T. Case for an outstanding $3 grand, but it'll be worth the extra power.

oh and one more thing... zxwut? you are more than welcome to trade your 40k for my 190k 7.5L in fact I'll hook em' up and not even charge ya...then you'll also have the miles to just go ahead and drop your cummins in. I unfortunately gotta wait til I come back from the sandbox before I do it . But when I do it'll be grand.

Why not sell the truck and use the proceeds plus the $8000 to buy a truck with a PowerStroke?

Do you even have a clue what you are talking about? The F superduty built from 87-97 FORD NEVER MADE IN 4WD. It was only offered w a 460 and a 6.9/7.3/powerstoke diesel.

The superduty you are talking about came out in 99 and the only engine options were a 5.4 6.8 and the 7.3 powerstoke NOT A 460. And what year forum are we in? O thats right. 87-96

I never said my buddies' were of this era, I am in this forum discussing my 91'. Oh and to answer your question freaky for one because I like the 90's Ford's better and for two I'll have twice the power building it up my way versus just buying a newer stock Ford.

Chiming in late here, But..............$8,000 could buy one hell of a nice Summit 460 crate motor and all the things needed to do the job right.

I cant provide you with documentation that Ford never made an F-superduty in 4WD but I can tell you that every single one I have ever seen has been 2WD. Also, just out of curiousity, I checked wikipedia and it doesnt say for sure, but I am willing to bet Brad is right. Also, if you were to go to autotrader right now and selected an F-Superduty from 87-97 and then picked 4WD as an option, you would get 0 results found.

I'm not saying you are right or wrong just wanted to know where you got your facts. Common to one person is not common to everyone. Common knowledge is not FACT. If your going to call someone a LIAR you need to back it up with FACTS.

Who are you, the FACT police? As far as I can tell, your only involvement in this thread is accusing others of not being able to back up their statements with sources - what gives?

Ask your local for parts guy for a t-case or front drive shaft for a F-superduty.

The sun rises in the east and sets in the west. Thats common knowledge. .............A.K.A. FACT

Just Like the FACT that ford did not make 4wd supercab or 4 door f350 Duallys pickups from 80-97. ONLY REG CAB and cab and chassis

I'd drop a couple of grand into the 460 and use the other $6000 to cover the extra fuel costs. Easiest, fastest, and should cover the difference in fuel costs for a looong time. (And you can earn interest on that $6000 in the meantime - woohoo)

well, here's the issue with that the 460 just doesn't have the power that I need for hauling cattle and a 24' flatbed trailer with 120+ bales of hay.

and diesel brad I think you may have got me on the superduty thing (and I said my buddies were of 2000+ years anyways), but I'm confused with the dually comment... Cause mine is a 91' 4 door 4x4 dually ...I will add that it is however, extremely hard to find, which is why I drove 10 hours to get it (I have a soft spot for that body style) and then one popped about a week after I had bought it that was 20 min away

Still sounds to me like you need a diesel if you feel the 460 isn't enough.
