vibration on the front end
so i have this vibration that only happens every few minutes and it has something to do with the front axle. the vibration stops when i engage the 4x4 on the switch, then i go back to 2wd and its gone for a few minutes, i took the hubs apart and rebuilt them and it still does it. so i decided to invest in the warn manuel lock hubs, and it still does it. any idea's? 1999 ford f250 7.3L 4x4

vibration problem
It could be the needle bearings on the back side of the front hub assembly. When they go bad they cause an intermittant vibration problem most noticeable at highway speeds. The vibration feels like when you drive over the (sleep at the wheel) ruts on the side of the road.

ya the vibration is like you said but it happens at all speeds and doesnt go away even if i come to a complete stop until i engage the 4x4. to check those out do i pull the manuel hub out then its that retaining clip and everything should pull out?
