This has to be a typo. You telling me that this new engine put in raises the value of the vehicle by 8 grand? If this is someone on the forum i hope you see this and understand that putting a stock motor in truck like this doesnt raise the value overall, the engine is required to be in the truck for sale if you want full blue book which is about 5,000 for excellent condition. Even if you were to buy it on a lot it would still only be 6,500. If it was turbo'd you would maybe be at 6500, pray you find a sucker.
well exactly i am not trying to be a jerk but this is way off the mark. All of the things on the truck that he tallied up to 16grand are service items, which need to be in good working condition to collect full blue book of the vehicle. Either way, it made me chuckle.
Man, I want this guy to sell my 94 for me! LOL I am WAY TOO CHEAP ON MINE! 2 grand....hmmm I should get AT LEAST 15k for mine since it is turbo'd....LOL WOW! So I want to meet the guy that buys it. I have some stuff I can and will sell him.
There was one out here recently that the guy was asking $6500 for....it included a factory rebuilt motor (in the bed of the truck, nothing under the hood), and included replacement doors because of the dents. Main reason I was interested was because it was a "Rare 1990 Ford F250 4X4 non-turbo powerstroke 7.3"...apparently it was "factory ordered that way because the original owner "a professional diesel mechanic" was aware that a turbo on the 7.3 block would cause cavitation"

Sounds like the guy that he got it from gave him a load of bull.

Wow, thats pretty dense. I feel better about this nut case in my own town now.
holy smokes.
the value could be there all easy, however not resale value lmao.
i wounder what he'd list mine as once i put my dually axle and fresh paint on her LOL.
she's only worth the $ to me.once im done with her,i may be lucky to get 1k hahaha.
lets see,in 10 yrs,the truck will be 27 yrs old.nope 1k not even gunna happen,nevermind lol.
but she will make me far more than i can ever put in it.
self value and resale are very drastic differences.some folks don't understand.
all you need to do tho,is hit ebay and search for trucks that go for 12k and everything becomes clear tho......funny.
well the good thing about this is,
is that not just the "average sucker" could get this.because no bank will provide financing close to this for a 16 yr old truck.so it would have to be someone who could outright pay for it(least most of it.they may lend 2-3k hmm ok maybe 4k with this mileage and age at best.)
so at least it would be a "well to do sucker" lol.

NO RUST OR DENTS...EVERYTHING IN EXCELLENT WORKING CONDITION THIS TRUCK WILL LAST FOR A MILLION MILES IF LOOKED AFTER PROPERLY
I only have one thought, if the truck will last a million miles if looked after properly, why did the original engine only last 95,000 KLM and the transmission only lasted 106,000 KLM?
If he has that work done in a shop, I have no doubt he has that much invested.
I put new fuses in mine, and I marked the price up 1000 dollars.
Bet that add runs for a long time with a 12K price tag on it..
I remember some one in Qualicum Beach that had a parts truck for sale in the buy sell & trade paper for a couple years. If I remember right, he wanted $1500 for a used 7.3 IDI, $1000 for a ZF5 tranny and some other overprice for the transfer case.....or the whole parts truck in non running condition for over $3000.
Wreckinball, I don't suppose you saw that one did you? I remember it was in there for ages. Was half tempted to call him up and tell him to stop listing it. I stopped bothering with the BST after they tried to charge money for viewing their ads online (in the age of craigslist, they clearly didn't see the writing on the wall).
For anyone not familiar with my area, Qualicum is about one hour south of where I live and the BST is an island wide paper that publishes only classified ads.
Did anyone else notice that his "New" motor has 80000 klm's on it and is 10 years old? And it will last a million miles but the first one only lasted 95000 klm's. That's what like 62000 miles or so? LOL
