I don't see any benefit. Save your money. You would have to have a huge air flow across the cooling fins to reap any benefits. Plus it would be a PITA to install.

well the fins would be on the outside...and i was actually thinking about maybe modding one of my pipes for something like this to go on the outside

I would think that the amount of air passing thru the tube would see very very little drop in temp from this.

i wonder if a larger one of these could be made...but another side of me thinks that it would be pointless too considering how hot it gets under these hoods

I could see using a thermal barrier to keep engine temps out but even still the gains would be minimal. Water injection would probably give better benifits
