When I rebuilt my turbo I still had some side to side play. No in and out play. The wheel didn't contact the housing at all, but I thought it would be real tight after the rebuild. I haven't checked it since I put it back on and got it running. It hit 33lbs of boost on a test drive, but I want to be sure it is ok.
Do you think something is wrong with it? I'm going to pull the intake off and check it again now that its been together for a few weeks. I'm a real turbo rookie, so checking with you guys for opinions. I did send the parts in to get balanced too.

Thanks guys.
Sounds normal to me. There should be some movement side to side/up down but none in and out. The oil on the journal bearings takes up the slack.
Thanks Tim. I was thinking that but like I said I don't know a lot about turbos. Just wanted to make sure nothing was wrong. There is absolutely no in/out movement.
